Jodie Jasper "JJ" Haralson, 94, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, February 15, 2017, in a nursing home surrounded by his family.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, at Dido Cemetery. Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, February 20, at Biggers Funeral Home.
JJ was born May 3, 1922 in China Spring, Texas, the son of Oscar and Hattie Haralson. He was a WWII Veteran, a devout Christian, and was retired from the City of Fort Worth. He loved his family and friends with all of his heart. He had a great love for singing gospel music, playing his guitar, and gardening.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jodie Lee Haralson; his grandson, Rocky Hataway; his sisters, Ruby and Odie; and his brothers, Luther, Hubert, and William Haralson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Willie Frances; daughter, Tresea Shaver and husband, David of Springtown; granddaughter, Trish Hataway of New Glarus, Wisconsin; great- grandchildren, Michael Bowditch, Joshua, Caleb, and Nathan Hataway, Corbin Sharpe, and Erika Shaver; two brothers, Orelee Haralson of Azle and Odis Haralson and wife, Ann of Azle; nieces, Martha Fillpot and Kami Brown of Weatherford; special friend, Payton; and several other nieces, nephews, and friends.
