Robert A. Battenberg, 95, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Friday January 27, 2017 in his home.
Robert was born on January 1, 1922, in South Bend, IN, to the late Arthur and Elsie (Alliger) Battenberg. On April 2, 1942, in Mishawaka, IN, Robert was married to Edith (Doyle). Robert is survived by; his 2 sons Richard (Mary) Battenberg, of St. Louis, MO, Michael (Tammy) Battenberg, of Nashville, TN, 6 grandchildren, Timothy, Nicholas, Tia, Tanner, Dustan, and Meigan Battenberg. Robert was also preceded in death by; his wife, Edith Battenberg, and 1 sister, Maxine Kubert.
Robert proudly served his country during WWII in the European Theater, with the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne. Robert enjoyed to golfing, fishing and painting.
A private graveside service will be held for Robert in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Mausoleum. Bubb Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
