William Henry “Sonny” Browning, Sr. (December 28, 1931 – February 2, 2017)
William Henry Browning (affectionately known as Sonny), 85, of Dallas, Texas passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the VA Hospital after a brief illness.
Sonny was born December 28, 1931 in Boswell, Oklahoma to Johnnie and Goldie Browning. On November 28, 1954 he married Janice Duncan in Dallas, TX. Sonny was an excellent auto-mechanic and was always working on a car, lawn mower, boat motor or just about anything else that had an engine in it.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Browning; two daughters, Cynthia “Tia” Huddleston and her husband Steve of Plano, TX; Diana Cano and her husband John of Irving, TX; son, Carl Browning and his wife Yi of Plano, TX; 8 grandchildren, Vernon Carl, Stefany, Daniel, Shelley, Natalie, Leslie, Ashley and Holly, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; and sister, Ima Browning Lawson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Goldie Browning; sons, Vernon Glenn and William Henry Browning, Jr; siblings, J.W. Browning, Helen Browning, Billie Browning Taylor, Faye Browning Blackshear, Vernon Browning and an infant sister.
Memorial service will be held at Troy Suggs Funeral Home at 12 pm Saturday, February 18th, located at 7623 Military Parkway Dallas, Texas 75227.
Reception will be held at 2:00 pm at VFW Post 6796, located at 9179 Garland Rd Dallas, Texas 75218.
Interment will be at DFW National Cemetery. Date to be determined.
North Texas Patriot Honor Guard will be present at all events.
