"Abercrombie, John, was born in Orange county in 1815. He came to Rochester in 1850, where he was for fourteen years engaged in contracting and building. In 1864 he came to Webster, and bought the farm where he now lives. He built most of the brick buildings in Webster, but since 1885 his time has been mainly devoted to farming.
