Richard L. Leep, 72, of Otsego, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 22, 2017 after a long illness. Richard was born January 31, 1944 to Charles and Ann (Aneweer) Leep. He graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School in 1962 and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman First Class. He received an Associate's degree from the University of Michigan and would later become the Owner and Operator of Leep Appraisal, serving Kalamazoo, Allegan, and Barry Counties.

Richard was a long-time member of Centerpoint Church in Kalamazoo and enjoyed golfing and fishing. He had a passion for mission work and was a big University of Michigan and Detroit Tiger fan. He loved his family dearly and was very passionate about sharing Jesus with others.

Richard married Linda DeHaan on February 14, 1991, who survives. Also surviving are his children, Zachary (Robin) DeHaan, Tami (Brian) Koenig, Stephanie (Jeff) Blaskiewicz, Rebecca Leep and Megan (Josh) Knight; a brother, Jerry (Lisa) Leep; a sister, Charlotte (Cor) Kaars; 10 grandchildren, Kara, Kyle, Chad, Caden, Lauren, Morgan, Tyler, Gracie, Adelih and Sophia, and six nieces.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife, Patricia (Roobol) Leep.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel. A memorial service to celebrate Richard's life will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 26 at Centerpoint Church, 2345 North 10th Street, Kalamazoo 49009. Interment will be held privately at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
