Musician. He was the co-founder and bassist of the '70s rock group Angel. He was born Donald Eugene Jones and changed his name to Michael David Jones with the nickname Mickie. He had been a musician/bassist since the late 1960s and played in the band BUX with Punky Meadows, who co-founded with Jones the band Angel with Casablanca Records. BUX produced a record with Capitol Records, however, it went out two years later, February 1976 under the title "We Came to Play." FOXXY was briefly formed after BUX and split up. Angel was "discovered" by Gene Simmons of KISS who encouraged Casablanca Records to sign them. Jones with Angel released three records before he left in 1977. The records he released with Angel are: Angel (1975), Helluva Band (1976), On Earth as It Is in Heaven (1977). He became the lead singer of the Los Angeles-based band Empire. Jones was described as a charming, friendly, and a genuine rock n' roll person.
