William A. Bingham, aged 68, died at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon at a local hospital. He is survived by two sons, A. W. Bingham and W. H. Bingham of Little Rock; and four daughters, Miss Hattie Bingham, Mrs. Ollie Britton and Mrs Nellie [i.e. Mellie] Brewer of Little Rock and Mrs. Josephine Cranley [i.e. Carnley] of California. He was a member of Iron Springs Lodge, no. 342 F. & A. M. Funeral services will be held at Landmark Cemetery at 4:30 this afternoon, in charge of the Rev J. W. Lawhon. The Masonic Order will conduct services.

William A. Bingham was born in Winn Parish, Louisiana, the son of Asa W. Bingham (1826-1863) and Harriet Lewis Bingham. Following his father's death, his mother married William J. Lansdale. The 1870 census finds William and his sister, Mary J. Bingham, living with their mother, step-father and half- siblings in Union County, Arkansas. He married Samiarniss Carnley on 20 December 1877 in Grant County, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his wife and daughters, Isabelle Bingham and Luanna Bingham McCumpsey, and also granddaughter, Dorthula Carnley. He was a farmer.
