She entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1928. Sister Mary was a teacher in schools in the Worcester Diocese, including the former Blessed Sacrament and Sacred Heart Schools in Worcester and St. Aloysius School in Gilbertville. She also taught at Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Santa Ana, Calif. and St. Edward School in Stafford Springs, Conn.
She served as assistant to the Major Superior of the Sisters of Mercy from 1957 to 1960.
Sister Mary received a bachelor's degree from Catholic University in Washington, D.C., in 1944.
