A great husband, father, brother and pawpaw, who was well loved, and will truly be missed, Curtis enjoyed fishing and building street rods. He attended Trinity Hill Free Will Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Laura Davis McKinney; three children, Kyle McKinney, Christopher Poole (Sherry) and Ashley Martinez (Francisco); one sister Kim Ledford (Randy); one brother Ray McKinney (Gwen); eight grandchildren, Carter, Ryian, Mason, Zoheigh, Maddie, Oaklyn, Lily and Carlos; and several nieces and nephews. Curtis is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Dallas and Rose Davis; and his special canine, Trixie.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
A private interment will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at McKinney Gap Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation in Mr. McKinney’s memory are asked to consider, the McKinney Family, 90 First Street EM, Marion, North Carolina 28752.
