Born in County Tyrone, Ireland, daughter of John Foster, farmer. 2 Oct 1846 was married to Richard Marshall, at Church of Ireland, Auchnacloy, Carnteel, County Tyrone, Ireland.
At the height of the Potato Famine (1849-1850) they sailed to Quebec, Canada, obtained farming land in the Frampton area and settled and raised a family.
