Debbie (Debra Sophie Dimiduk) Belisle, age 59, died on October 4, 2016, at Hospice of Dayton after a brief but intense battle with cancer. She was born in Dayton, OH on December 10, 1956, to the late Paul and Marie (Kovalyak) Dimiduk, formerly of Duquesne, PA. She is survived by her husband of 4 years, Bob (Robert J. Belisle Jr.) of Enon, OH; brothers David of MA, Dennis (Lisa) and Daniel (Janet) of OH; sisters Diane (Frank) Ciaravolo of OH, Dorothy (Bob) Kastigar of MO and Donna (John) Brotherton of AZ; numerous nieces and nephews whom she cherished; 3 step-daughters and their families and numerous extended family members. Debbie graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1975. She earned an AD in nursing from Sinclair Community College, a BSN from the College of Mount St Joseph and an MBA and MS in nursing administration from Wright State University. She served as an emergency nurse at Children’s Medical Center, a volunteer paramedic with Mad River Township Fire Department and a flight nurse with Care Flight Miami Valley Hospital. Debbie held multiple positions at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, including EMS/Trauma manager. She also served as education coordinator at Grandview Medical Center. Recently, she was a professor at Hondros College, and taught classes in life support for Children’s Medical Center, and WSU Department of Emergency Medicine. Debbie served as a member of Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT) OH-5 in Dayton, OH, from its inception. She deployed to areas severely damaged by the hurricanes Ike, Katrina, and Floyd, which brought her recognition for "outstanding service to the National Disaster Medical System and DMAT.” She also received Hospice’s "Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing.” Debbie found joy in photography, gardening, crafts, and spending time with her loving family. We express our gratitude to the many caring family members, friends and caregivers at Hospice of Dayton.
