John Henry Willmarth, age 75, of Vernon Township, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017, at the Meadville Medical Center with his wife and pastor by his side. He was born on June 18, 1941, the son of the late Arthur Willmarth and Mabelle Weird Willmarth. John married Jacquelin (Jackie) Tillack Willmarth on June 10, 1972. She survives.

John graduated from Meadville High School in 1959. He then enrolled at Fenn College (now Cleveland State University) in Cleveland, OH, then North Texas State University at Denton, TX, Edinboro University, Allegheny College and earned his Pharmacy degree from University of Pittsbugh School of Pharmacy. He was employed as a pharmacist with Kaiser Permanente in Cleveland both at the hospital and the outpatient clinic. He also worked at Sun Drug in the Hermitage Plaza, Hermitage, PA, the Saegertown Pharmacy, Eckards Drugs in Meadville and retired from the Eckards Drugstore on South Main Street, in Meadville.

John was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Meadville and he took care of the computers and sound system at the church for the many years. He loved computers and his antique cars. He drove his cars in the Meadville Halloween Parade for 40 years. He was a member of the Pioneer Steam and Gas Engine Society of Northwestern Pennsylvania Inc. John was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Crawford Lodge #234 of which he was a 32nd Degree member. He served on the Meadville High School Class of 1959 reunion committee for numerous years. He loved his poodles and missed them dearly, Frosty Edward Willmarth, Taffy Edward Willmarth, and Snooker Edward Willmarth.

John is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jacquelin, two cousins: Glenn Willmarth of Meadville, and Susan Taylor of Cochranton, a brother-in-law, Larry Tillack and his wife Sue of Bethel Park, PA, and cousins from Williamsburg, VA, New Castle, PA, Mercer, PA and Johnsonburg, PA.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Richard Tillack and his three poodles Frosty Edward Willmarth, Taffy Edward Willmarth and Snooker Edward Willmarth
