Mrs. Madelyn Hagist Tucker, 84, of Ponte Vedra Beach, passed away on Thursday, December 29th 2016. She was born in St. Louis, Mo. on July 15th 1932. Madelyn was a resident of the Jacksonville Beaches for over 50 years.

A Fletcher High School graduate, she also attended the University of Miami. She married Ed L. Tucker (deceased) on May 4th 1957. Madelyn had a long career in the insurance business with the McNeill Insurance Agency of Jacksonville Beach, and was a true real estate entrepreneur having bought and sold more than 10 homes at the beaches throughout her life.

Her love for her family and her sense of humor were a constant through the challenges in her life. Madelyn had a passion for music, art, literature, history, social conversation and a smooth scotch and water at the end of a busy day.

She is survived by her son Ed R. Tucker (Sheila), her daughter Susan Tucker, grandchildren Lauren and Kyle Tucker and one sister Susan Tracey.

She will be laid to rest in H. Warren Smith Cemetery in Jacksonville Beach next to her step mother Mary Crow Hagist and father Melvin Hagist. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida at 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hardage-Giddens Beaches Chapel, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL.
