Born in New Ringgold, he was a son of the late Milton M. and Mabel M. (Miller) Bailey.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II, having served in China, Guam and the Hawaiian Islands.
He was affiliated with the Blue Mountain Christian Retreat Center.
Surviving are two stepsons, Albert and Joseph Lakitsky; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother Curtis; and a sister, Bertha Bennick.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Wertman and Rachel Ebbert; four brothers, Clarence, James, William and Herman; and a granddaughter, Michelle Lakitsky, who passed away in 2005.
Service: Private service at convenience of family. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. No calling hours. Arrangements by Lamar Christ Funeral Home, Hometown.
