NEW BOSTON, Texas—Roy Marcum, 87, of Maud, Texas, died Friday at his residence of natural causes.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Floyd Tuckett and the Rev. A. M. Adams officiating. Burial will be in Rock Hill Cemetery under direction of Bates-Rolf Funeral Home, New Boston.
Mr. Marcum was born Jan. 25, 1897, in Bowie County, Texas. He was a farmer, rancher, Master Mason Lodge No. 859, Maud, and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, where he was a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lamb Marcum of Maud; two daughters, Murva Lawless of Longview, Texas, and Murly Sherwin of Dallas, Texas; one son, Joseph D. Marcum of Clinton, Miss.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. (Courtesy of Jane Newton)
