Richard Patrick was raised Protestant with the Church of England in Frampton, Quebec, Canada within a strong Irish community of immigrants. He was then baptized Catholic so he could marry Catherine Wheeler of Frampton, before coming down to New Hampshire. RP started as a lumberman, then changed to masonry work. After being a cook in a lumber camp he returned to Berlin and for 20 years ran a Restaurant/Bakery in Berlin on Exchange Street.
His nephew, Mike Marshall apprenticed in the bakery and himself became a cook in a lumber camp.
