Rev. Otis L. Beal, 94, of Douglas, Georgia, died Monday, December 12, 2016, at Shady Acres Convalescent Home in Douglas.

Funeral services were held 2 PM, Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Jeff Parmer officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Ben Hill County.

Rev. Beal was born March 25, 1922, in Morgan County, Georgia, to the late Lemuel R. & Bessie Lee Sidwell Beal. He helped his family sharecrop and served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II. He was stationed throughout Central Europe and France. Rev. Beal answered the call to ministry and was a Baptist minister for over 60- years, serving congregations across south Georgia.

He is survived by his wife: Gladys Myers Beal of Douglas; children: Ronald Edward Beal & Nadya of Cartersville, Otis Paul Beal and Mike Burns of Palm Springs, California, Stephen Timothy Beal of Adel, and Sharon Beal Shealey of Ocilla; grandchildren: Eddie James, Courtney Beal Spriggs (Scotty), Jonathan Beal, Jeff Greer (Robin), Al Shealey (Shannon), Michelle Morris (Keith), Morgan Stone (B.J.), Timmy Beal, and Lindsay Beal Surrency (Chad). Many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews also survive.
