She was also predeceased by her husband, Henry Brice Boyd; a daughter, Patricia Boyd Calhoun; a son, Henry Dale Boyd and several sisters and brothers.
Mildred, with her inquisitive mind, loved to read. She was a lifelong learner, who possessed a great strength of character. One of her greatest attributes was her reliability. Mildred was a master gardener who enjoyed planting things and seeing it grow. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Mrs. Boyd is survived by her son, Jerry Brice Boyd; her daughter, Rhonda B Smart and her husband Dan; her sisters, Betty Harmon (Ed) and Shirley Edwards (Frankie); seven grandchildren, Brett Calhoun (Paula), Jason Calhoun (Crystal), Angela Blackburn, Wesley Martin, Joshua Rush, Christopher Smart and Taylor Smart; four great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and many other family and friends who will miss her.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the Mountain Cemetery with Chaplain Bill Harrell officiating.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Agape Hospice, but would like to especially thank Terri Cooper for all she did for Mrs. Boyd.
