James Edward Matney, 52, of Welch, WV, died Tuesday, December 6, 2016.
James was born June 1, 1964, in Welch, WV, a son of Reba Mae "Okie" Meadows-Matney (B. 1942) and the late Kennis Matney (1939-1992); he was a retired coal miner.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jackie Lee Matney (1958-2015) and David Lee Matney (1972-2016); two sisters, Ruth "Ruthie" Ann Matney-Roberts (Deceased) and Debra "Debbie" Faye Matney-Davis (1963-Deceased); one son, James Edward "J.W." Matney Jr.
Survivors include his mother, Reba Mae "Okie" Meadows-Matney (B. 1942) of Welch, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted, Monday, December 12, 2016, at 1:00 o'clock with Reverend Martin West officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in the Meadows Cemetery at Orchard Branch near Litwar, WV.
