James Willis Wiegand, 94, of Ridgeley, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, at his home.
Born Jan. 6, 1922, in Cumberland, Mr. Wiegand was the son of the late William Wiegand and Nellie Irene (Strawser) Wiegand.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris Wiegand; his daughter, Beverly Weimer; his brothers, William and Richard Wiegand; and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

A United States Army/Air Corps Veteran, James retired from Allegany Ballistics Laboratory. He was previously employed at the Celanese Fibers Corporation of America; Sears, and Burkeys Furniture. James enjoyed playing cards, fishing, reading, spending time on his computer and going to the Rocky Gap Casino.
James is survived by his daughters, Shirley Bevan and husband, Tom of Florida and Mary Shepherd and her partner, Dale of Florida; and his son, Jim Wiegand and wife, Robin, Lonaconing.
He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Lisa Wiegand; his son-in-law, Michael Weimer; as well as seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, (www.AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com) on Sunday. Dec. 11, 2016, from 2 to 5 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Wayne Turner officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Short Gap Volunteer Fire Department, 128 Knobley Road, Ridgeley, WV 26753; or, the Wiley Ford Volunteer Fire Department, Post Office Box 11, Wiley Ford, WV 26767.
