Laurene Anna Sprague was born February 26, 1928 to John and Anna Burback in Berthoud, Colorado. Laurene attended and graduated with honors from Longmont High School.
 Laurene married high school sweetheart Leo F. Sprague August 11, 1946. They were blessed with 4 children.
Laurene was a dedicated farm wife and mother who worked side by side with her husband and sons. In 1973 they sold their Dairy Farm in Platteville and moved to Wray with their sons.  They lived and farmed here until November of 2015.
Laurene was an expert seamstress and crafter. Her expertise was quilting.  She has made and given away many quilts. She enjoyed all the kids and grandkids but most of all her 19 Great Grandkids.  She was always thrilled when any or all of them came to visit.  Her love of family was obvious the more the merrier. there was always enough food and room for everyone. 
Laurene is survived by her daughter, of Platteville, son, of Wray, and daughter in-law of Wray.   Laurene  was blessed with seven Grandchildren and nineteen Great-Grandchildren, all were very near and dear to her heart.
Laurene was preceded in death by her husband, of 69 years Leo F. Sprague, infant daughter, Vicki Jane and son, Larry Roy; parents, John and Anna Burback, sisters, Esther Sprague and Ruth Leonhard, brothers, Walt Burback, and Ray Burback.
A Receiving of Family & Friends will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 from 5 pm – 7 p.m. at the Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home, 427 Adams Street, Wray, Colorado.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 9:00 A.M. at the Schmidt Jones Funeral Home in Wray, Colorado with Randy Mayer officiating. Interment and Graveside services will be held at Foothills Memorial Gardens in Longmont, Colorado following the service.
Memorial donations can be made to the Sprague Family to be distributed for educational purposes of Laurene and Leo’s great grandchildren. Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Schmidt-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
