Born 1848 in Glencull, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland to Richard Marshall and Margaret Foster. This young family migrated to Canada during the famine in 1849 or 50, then settled in the Standon/Frampton area of Quebec Canada. William came to New Hampshire about 1878 after his marriage to Ellen Wheeler.
Had 5 children, Joseph, Michael, Mary "Mame", Nellie, Margaret "Maggie".
