Mr. Larry Allen Moon, 59, of Rutherford College, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2016 at his residence. Larry was born Feb. 9, 1957 Anderson County, S.C., to Carole Sellers Moon and the late Sidney Robert Moon. He was a graduate of East Burke High School and a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Larry was employed as a longtime welder and pipe fitter. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a son, Sidney Howard Moon, his grandparents, Howard Thurman Sellers and Edna Louise Case Sellers. Survivors include his wife, Darlene McFarland Moon of the home; his mother, Carole Sellers Moon-Walker and step-father, Melvin of Catawba, S.C.; step-daughter, Amanda Garrison of Morganton; and two brothers, Brian and Jay Moon. Also surviving are three nephews, one niece and his beloved dog, Sam. A private service will be held by the family at a later date. Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory of Valdese is serving the Moon family.

Larry Allen Moon was first married to Rosemary Gavin. They had a child, Sidney Howard Moon, who died in a truck accident in Drexel, N.C.
