Born in Vance County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Clara Faulkner Abbott.
She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Ray Dickerson; two sisters, Gertrude A. Wrenn Maw Maw and Rebecca A. Jennings; two brothers, Maurice Fenner Abbott and Floyd Bo Abbott; and two grandchildren, Kenneth Troy McGhee and Tonya Ann McGhee.
