Mr. Lovelace was born in Gaston County, a son of the late Thomas Crawford and Mary Essie Ledford Lovelace. He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Vertie Mae Smith Lovelace, and a son, Dexter Wayne Lovelace. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Mae Eubanks Lovelace.
He retired from Akers Motors Lines.
He was a member of First Wesleyan Church in Kings Mountain, where he was a member of the Young at Heart Mens Sunday school class.
He served in the Army Air Corps and was an M.P. at the Nuremberg trials in Germany. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
