Mr. Greer was born in Greenville County, SC a son of the late Dallas “Red” Greer and the late Trixie Key Greer. He retired in 1991 from General Electric where he served as a foreman. Mr. Greer was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II where he served in the European Theater and fought in three major battles. He also sat in on the Nuremberg trials following the war.
Survivors include his wife Ruth Greer, sons David Greer and Timothy Greer both of Louisville and daughters Tracy Spalding (Jessie) and Jenna Greer both of Corydon, IN, ten grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
Burial with military honors: Hillcrest Memorial Park and Gardens.
