SCHUYLER - Donald Abraham, 78, of Schuyler, died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Kracl Funeral Chapel in Schuyler, with Lay Minister Jerry L. Kracl officiating. Burial is at the Schuyler Cemetery, with military honors by Hespen-Mitchell Post 4836 of the V.F.W and McLeod Post No. 47 of the American Legion. Lunch will be served at the V.F.W. Hall.
Visitation is from noon-8 p.m. Friday, with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral chapel.
Donald was born Sept. 21, 1928, in rural Colfax County, to John and Ida (Legler) Abraham. He attended District 8 School through the 8th grade and went to work on the family farm. He joined the United States Army in 1951 and served in a MASH unit in Korea until his discharge in 1953. He bought a farm and raised hogs, cattle, corn and soybeans. Following an automobile accident in 2001 he has resided in a nursing home in Central City.
He is survived by one brother, Alden and his wife Elizabeth Abraham of Minneapolis, Minn.; three sisters, Florence and her husband Ward Stevenson of Richland, Elaine Abraham of Schuyler and Joyce Svasek of Schuyler; three nephews, Dan and his wife Suzanne Stevenson of Columbus, Kenneth and his wife Denise Stevenson of Richland, and Tom and his wife Julie Stevenson of Aurora.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, LaVerna Ann Abraham and Eleanor Moural.
Memorials are suggested to the family's choice or the Kidney Foundation.
