Oran "Bill" Bailey, age 92, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016.
Oran is survived by his wife, Edith Bailey of 15 years, one son, Joseph Carl Bailey of Chickasha, OK and one sister, Josie Belle Knecht of Johnson City, TX.
Bill was preceded in death by his son, William Harold Bailey.
Bill served in World War II. Bill was in the Combat Engineer Battalion.
Bill retired from the Soil Conservation Service.
Bill was talented fiddler. As a hobby while in college, he joined the "Aggie Rambler". Later he formed his own band, "Bill Bailey and the Country Classics." After retirement playing music turned into full time job. Bill ended all of his performances with the song, "Bill Bailey, Won't You Come Home." Bill enjoyed playing and competed in many contests over the years. That was his life. Bill enjoyed every minute of it.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services -Sara Rd. Chapel. A service will follow at 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 9:45 a.m. at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM.
