Myra Patten 81, died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005, in her home. She lived in the Sulphur area for 35 years, moving there from Orange, Texas.

She is survived by her son, Butch Metcalf and his wife, Hasuko (Kay), of Ragley; daughters, Ann Reeves and her husband, Frank, of Mauriceville, Texas, Dawn Aultman and her husband, James, of Cleveland, Texas, and Bonnie Gary of Sulphur; special friend, Buddy Delano of Sulphur; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral was Tuesday, Nov. 29, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery in Sulphur. Words of comfort may be shared at www.mem.com.

Myra Ozelia Bivens, the first child of Charles "Ted" Edward Bivens born in Alabama and Mattie Hortense Bivens born in Texas. Myra married her 1st husband Arvid Daris Metcalf, the son of Thomas Leslie Metcalf and Susie Jane Wilburn. They were married on February 10th, 1945 in Jackson, Shelby County, Texas.

They had four known children together, three daughters, and one son. Carolyn Ann, Arvid Daris, Sharon Dawn, and Leslie Yvonne.

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, Arvid age 60 and Myra age 53, were divorced on May 25th, 1978 in Orange County, Texas.

The 1930 US-Census for Riley, Neshoba County, Mississippi list: Myra Bevens age 5, her brother Charles E. Bevens age 2, her mother Hortense Bevens age 24, all living with her father Charls E. Bevens age 28, Head of Household. Also listed is Presly Eubank age 22, Lodger.

The 1940 US-Census for Justice Precinct 2, Shelby County, Texas list: Myra Bivens age 15, her brother Charles Bivens age 12, and her mother Hortense Bivens age 34, all living with her mother's parents, George Bivens age 68 and Bettie Bivens age 62.

In the early 1960's Arvid, Myra and three of their four children moved from Texas to Salem, Marion County, Oregon. A short time later they would move back to Texas.
