Betty Gaylor Allums, 79, wife of the late Gene C. Allums and a resident of Capeville, VA, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at her residence. A native of Capeville, she was the daughter of the late Tate Graham Gaylor and the late Ruby Nicely Gaylor. She was retired from the Cape Charles Air Force Base as a commissary manager and was a member of Capeville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda A. Annon and her husband, George, of Machipongo, VA; a son, Carl G. Allums and his wife, Karen, of Exmore, VA; two sisters, Phyllis Neal of Panama City, FL, Eleanor Guests of Laurel, DE; three grandchildren, Holly A. Hubbard of Machipongo, Zachary T. Annon of Machipongo, Kalyn E. Allums of Exmore; and three great grandsons, Gibson Hubbard, Palmer Hubbard and Tate Annon. Mrs. Allums was predeceased by a son, John Kirby Allums.

A graveside service will be held Friday, November 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Cape Charles Cemetery with Reverend Elizabeth A. Lutz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cape Charles Christian School, Post Office Box 30, Cape Charles, VA 23310.
