Sarah Norma Joan Lewis Owens of Oklahoma City, OK, went to be with her Heavenly family December 20, 2006. She was born February 11, 1933, at Ada, OK to Oscar Smitty and Blanch Day Lewis. She grew up in Ada, OK. She attended school 1st through 12th in Ada Schools graduating from Ada High School. She met and married Hagen Eugene Owens and lived in a number of places like Crescent City, CA, Indiana and Texas. They eventually settled in Ada, OK, until 1964 when Eugene went to work for Lee Way Trucking and moved to Moore, OK. There they raised six children all of whom lived in Oklahoma City, Moore, Norman, & Blanchard, OK. Joan, as she was known by all that knew her, married Hagen Eugene Owens (Boots) in Sulphur, OK, December 24, 1952. They raised two daughters: Becky Owens Galindo and husband Frank Galindo and Debby Owens; four sons: Eugene 'Booty' Owens and wife Sherry, Kieth Owens and wife Lori, Brent Owens and wife Janice and Justin 'Kimbo' Owens and wife Brenda; grandchildren: Eric Owens and wife Rachel, Joey Owens and wife Lanaye, Josh Owens and wife Ashley, Rachelle Owens, Kimberlea Edwards and husband Brian, Amber Lynn and husband Shannon, Virgil Owens, Aimee Owens, Justin Owens, Stephanie Owens, Jesse Boring and wife Josie, Mandi Boring, Tonly Galindo, and Brian Galindo (deceased); great-grandchildren: Bryce, Kady Jo, Hagen Micah, Tawnie, Rusty, Devon, Shayleeh, and Dusten, and is expecting two more in June 2007. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 6 brothers. Funeral services will be at Wilmont Place Baptist Church, 6440 S. Santa Fe, Oklahoma City, OK, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 23, 2006, with Pastor Dan Frazee conducting services. Interment will be at Lilac Hills Cemetery, Broadway, Moore, OK. You may pay your respects at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 5005 SE 29th St., Del City, OK 73115. Joan will be missed by anyone she ever met and touched their lives. She was and will always be a beautiful person in mind, body, soul and spirit.
