He was a 1960 graduate of New Albany High School in New Albany, Indiana.
He was an entrepreneur and owned several business including; Castle Care Building Maintence in Lake Ozark for many years and Hamm and Henke Piano Store in Denver, Colorado.
Lawrence enjoyed traveling around the United States. As such, he worked in several of our national parks with his wife Dolores by his side. Some of the National Parks he worked for were: Yellowstone National Park at Devil's Tower and Red River Gorge National Park in Tennessee. He liked purchasing wares at many local auctions, but most of all, Lawrence loved his family. He was a pillar of strength and courage for his family. The memories they made will be forever cherished.
He is also survived by three sons: Matthew Hamm of Fortuna, Nicholas Hamm of Springfield, and Carl (LeeAnn) Cooper of Auxvasse; five daughters: Laura Sue Hamm of Raleigh, North Carolina, Lisa Linn Hamm of Raleigh, North Carolina, Lana Lee Hamm of Kansas City, Missouri, Megan Hamm of Kansas City, Missouri and Katrina (Timothy) Platt of Waterloo, Iowa; one sister: Sheila (Kenny) Birchfield of New Albany, Indiana; one brother-in-law: Dr. John Scofield of Clarksville, Tennessee and numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister: Deanna Karen Scofield.
A Gathering of Family and Friends, celebrating the life of Lawrence Hamm, Jr. will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Tipton Park -Lake Shelter in Tipton, Missouri. Meat and Drinks will be provided, please bring a covered dish. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 at Allen Cemetery with Timothy Platt officiating. Inurnment will follow at Allen Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice Compassus.
