Sutherlin Resident Succumbs Tuesday

Archie William Boggs, 69, resident of Sutherlin, died July 17 in a local hospital. He was a former owner of the Sutherlin Iron Works.

He was born Nov. 3, 1886, in Washington and came to this community nine years ago to make his home. He was a member of the Oakland Lodge No. 16 AF & AM; a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Klamath Consistory and a member of the Organized Trailer Owners of Oregon.

Surviving are his wife, Maude of Sutherlin; two sons, Vonley Boggs of Grants Pass and Eldon Boggs of Vancouver, Wash.; a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Swisher, California; a step-son, Adrian Strader, Seattle, Wash., seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held in The Chapel of the Roses Friday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Newell Morgan of the First Christian Church will officiate. Ritualistic services will be under the auspices of the Oakland Lodge No. 16 AF & AM. The body will then be to the Rest Haven Crematorium, Eugene, for cremation. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations to the Cancer Society may be left at the Chapel of the Roses.
