James Robert Adamec, age 69, of Marion, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his home with his family by his side. Originally from Owosso, MI, Jim was born February 13, 1947 to his parents, Edward Adamec and Nadine Hammond. Jim worked for a number of years as the Plant Manager for Haldex. He enjoyed woodworking and building furniture, and enjoyed sharing his gift with others. Jim was also a golfer, and loved spending time with his dog, Coco. He will be remembered as kind man and loving father. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a sister, Dawn Jones, and his wife of 38 years, Linda Humphrey Adamec.
Surviving Jim are his daughters, Kris Edwards and husband Marc of Marion and Sheri Russell and husband Matt of Huntersville; a sister, Cathy Barrone of Milford, CT; a brother, Michael Adamec and wife Linda of Crestview, FL; four grandchildren, Adam Edwards, Katelyn Edwards, Benjamin Russell, and Kelly Russell; and one great-grandson, Maddox Edwards.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 6:00 pm at Westmoreland Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. This organization is one that Jim and Linda supported regularly.
