Dorothy was born August 9, 1924 in Clinton, Missouri to the late William Thomas Barton and Sarah Rebecca Kendrick Barton and had lived in the area most of her life.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Slankard, Neosho, Carla Dean Barton, Joplin; ten grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was also preceded in death by a son, Terrance Gamble; a daughter, Stacie Taylor and was the last of 13 children.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date. Dorothy will be buried next to her husband at the Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield, Missouri.
