STEPHEN R. Age 24, died suddenly on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, after more than a decade-long battle with anxiety, depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder. He is survived by his parents, Ellen and Peter Durand; brother, Robert; maternal grandparents, Nancy and John Renick and paternal grandmother, Ann Durand; aunts, Elizabeth (Troy) Bracher, Susan (Mark) Tisdel, Mary Claire (Connie Coroles) Durand, Theresa Durand, Martha (Joe) Schwanitz, and Catherine Durand Janka; and cousins, Jack, Christian and George Bracher, Laura and Andrew Tisdel, Meghan, Betsy and Whitney Miller, and Emily and Ted Janka. A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, September 24th from 2-8 p.m. at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Park. A prayer service will begin at 5:30 p.m. At his request, Stephen's body was turned over to Gift of Life Michigan for organ donation. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Detroit Institute for Children Summer Learning Program, 2075 E. West Maple Road, B-203, Commerce Charter Township, Michigan 48390.
