Viola "Marie" Grimes, 91, formerly of Gainesville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday 11, 2016; She passed away suddenly and peacefully in Tyler surrounded by family. Marie was born to Frank and Grace Steele.
Marie married Leland Tillman "LT" Grimes December 24, 1945 in Ft. Worth, Texas. To this union were born four children.
Marie was known for her faith in God and exuberant joy which showed in her constant smile and contagious laugh. She loved to read her bible and prayed for every member of her large family every day.

Marie Grimes is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Danny Burris of Whitehouse, Texas: son and daughter-in-law Charles and Pamela Grimes of Gainesville, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Tom and Carma Grimes of Cedaredge, CO; 9 grandchildren & 23 great grandchildren who knew her as Maw Maw; many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; her husband LT Grimes, of Tyler; daughter Donna Borden & grandson Darin Grimes of Gainesville; and great- grandson Grayson Burris of Montrose, CO.
