He graduated from Norwayne High School in 1954. He worked as a truck driver for MH Koppes Clay Products until he went to Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky., where he graduated in 1962.
Carl taught at Wadsworth City Schools, retiring in 1993. He also worked part-time at Wadsworth Sash and Door and at Home Depot until November, 2013. He enjoyed teaching Sunday school at Riverside Alliance Church, photography, woodworking, and teaching science.
Preceded in death by parents, Hershel E. Neff and Rose Zella Neff (Green), and sister, Dorothy Matheny, he is survived by wife, Kathryn Neff (Beaver); daughters, Sherrie (Joe) Campbell and Susan Neff; grandchildren, Ryan Campbell, Julie Campbell, and Brooke Barnes; brothers, Clarence (Susan) Neff, Lee (Sandi) Neff, Hershel (Sandy) Neff; sisters, Alice (Floyd) Dutt, Mary (Bill) Watts, Carol (Allen) Swain, and Donna (Larry) Bishop; many nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be Monday, July 21, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home, 1376 High St., Wadsworth (one mile north of I-76 on Rt. 94), with Dr. Nevin Wiest officiating. Family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to CMA Great Commission Fund, c/o Riverside Alliance Church, 2433 South Main St., Akron, OH 44319.
