Son of Richard Tomkinson Bloor (187? - 1954) and Fanny Walley (1868 - 1902) who were married in 1896, in Staffordshire. Fanny died on the 29th October 1902, aged 34. Richard then married Ann Elizabeth Clowes in 1904.

1911 Census - Edward and his sister, Fanny were living at West View Cottage, in Cheadle, Staffordshire, with their paternal grandmother, Martha Bloor.

Naval Records state that Edward was born in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, this is a mistake, as he was born in Cheadle, Staffordshire.

Edward signed up with the Royal Navy in 1916. Among others he served on H.M.S. Impregnable, H.M.S. Ganges, and H.M.S. Commonwealth (pictured left).

Cause of death: Haemophilus Influenzae, Pneumonia, and Emphysema.
