Fred passed away at age 56, leaving his wife Betty, a daughter, Debbie, a son, Gerald, and a son, Kenneth. He and Betty had been married for 26 years, since 1953. In 1972 they purchased Tut's Store in North Waterford, and together ran it until his death. Betty continued to run this store until 1987. Betty passed away, on August 27, 2016, and will be interred beside "Tut".

Fred was born in Auburn, Me. May 2, 1923, the son of Irvin and Jessie Groves Tuttle, and attended schools there and in Minot.

He had been employed by Reynolds Tree Surgery Co. for 2 years. He worked for the Teamsters Union for 12 years in Portland, and 6 in Lebanon, NH., retiring from there in 1972. Since that time he and his wife, Betty, had owned and operated Tut's General Store there.

An Army veteran of WW11, he was a member of the Ronald St.John Post of the VFW, of Harrison, Me., the Waterford Fire Department, and the Fraternity Lodge 100F, of Portland. He was a former member of the Auburn Fire Department.
