William Fred Pence, 89, of Elizabethtown, passed away at his residence on August 24, 2016. He was a native of Hardin County. He retired from Dow Corning and farming . He served as a song leader and was a faithful member of the Elizabethtown Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; Ira and Ollie Pence and 4 brothers; Glenn, Gilbert, Ernest and Herbert Pence. He is survived by his wife of 70 years; Kathleen Pence, 2 sons; Jerry (Linda) Pence of Pilot Mtn, NC and Ronnie (Nancy) Pence of Elizabethtown, 5 grandchildren; Matthew, Micah, Jonathan and Erica Pence, Jessica Lewis, 2 step grandchildren; Jeremy Smith and Zach Minor, and 10 great grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday, August 27 at 4:00 pm at Elizabethtown Church of Christ with Brother John Board and Brother Ray Pack officiating, with burial following at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, August 26, 2016 from 4:30-8:00 pm and continuing Saturday after 1:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home.
