Eugene D. Foreman, 80, of Van Wert, died at 2:19 a.m. Friday, June 8, 2007, at Van Wert County Hospital,Van Wert.

He was born June 30, 1926, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., to the late Vera (Ankney) Foreman and Homer Foreman. On Sept. 7, 1946, he married Norma J. (Wesco) Foreman. She survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include four sons, Terry Foreman and David (Anne) Foreman, both of Van Wert, Chris Foreman of New Bremen, Ohio, and Dennis (Kathy) Foreman of White Pigeon, Mich.; a daughter, Denice (Les) Guyton of Convoy, Ohio; two sisters, Virginia Pollock of Middle Point, Ohio, and Shirley (Robert) Adams of Spencerville, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Byron and Robert Foreman; one grandchild, Candi Foreman, and a great-grandchild, Michael Allen.

Mr. Foreman retired in 1984 as a truck driver. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Van Wert. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre and in Guam for 18 months. He was a life member of both the Van Wert American Legion and the Van Wert Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and woodcarver.

Military graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Grave location is at the west end of the cemetery.
