Mary C. Monsour, 90, was born in Akron, Ohio on June 29, 1923 to Lebanese parents, Youssef and Nafleh (Yakoub) Mansour and passed away August 14, 2013 after a brief stay at VNS Hospice Care on Ridgewood.

Mary graduated from Columbia University and did social work in New York, Cleveland and Akron. In her 50 plus years in Akron, she was a member of the Blessed Trinity (St. Martha Catholic Church), the St. Martha Parish Choir, Patterson Park Senior Singers and the North Hill Library Reading Club. Mary volunteered countless hours for the Master Gardeners of Summit County Ohio State University Extension and has a garden at Ben Franklin Gardens in the Old Brooklyn neighborhood of Cleveland.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Martha, Jamelia, Julia and Sister Veronica; and brother, Eddy; and is survived by her sister-in-law, Nina; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many grieving friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at the Blessed Trinity Church, E. Tallmadge Ave., Akron. Mary's final resting place will be Holy Cross Cemetery.
