Ina Belle (Loudermilk) Boggs went to be with the Lord and her husband, Delmar Tony Boggs, her son, Ronnie Delmar Boggs, on April 13, 2004. Mrs. Boggs was born October 1, 1913, in Vago, Greenbrier County, W. Va. and came to Akron at 16 years old. She played basketball for Buchtel High School and graduated from Buchtel. Mrs. Boggs lived most of her life in Tallmadge, Ohio. She retired from the Tallmadge Post Office after 23 years of service. People missed seeing her at the post office with her cheerful demeanor and ready smile after she retired. Mrs. Boggs was honored by the Congress of the State of Ohio, by being voted "Woman of the Year." She was a past president of the Tallmadge Business and Professional Women's Organization, past president of the Tallmadge Home and Garden Club, past president of Stillmeadow Garden club, member of the Tallmadge Garden Forum, member of the Akron Baptist Temple for over 50 years, and the Golden Agers. Mrs. Boggs always traveled back to West Virginia at least twice a year, missing her family and beautiful mountains. One of her favorite pastimes was reading and writing poetry. She would recite poems on the drive to West Virginia and all who rode with her will remember those poems with feelings of comfort and love. Mrs. Boggs loved to travel with her family and friends and had traveled the United States and Europe. Another of her loves was her garden of vegetables, which got smaller as the years passed. This was a woman who was an honor to know and love. She had a purity of heart along with kindness and gentleness for all, but she was not naive. She certainly knew what people could be like but always trusted and looked for the best in everyone. If you needed help or advice, Mrs. Boggs was the one to go to, as her words were always true and wise but said with love. Everywhere she passed, she touched the heart of one and all. Mrs. Boggs will be sadly missed as she made our lives better for having had the pleasure of knowing and loving her. She leaves a legacy of warmth, faith, and love. Mrs. Boggs was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Delmar, and her precious son, Ronnie. she is survived by her much loved daughter, Sandy Boggs Drummond of Akron; daughter-in-law, Pat Bertsch Boggs of Tallmadge, whom she loved as a daughter, and beloved sister, Ruth Brillhart of Akron; along with her eight loving grandchildren, Vicki (Eugene) Miller of Akron, Jeri (Gary) Grand of Munroe Falls, Terri (Darin) Harris of Stow, Jenny (John) MacRitchie of Columbus, Tony (Sarah) Boggs of Tallmadge, Ricky Boggs of Akron, Jeremy (Jenny) Drummond of Philadelphia, Pa., and Josh Drummond of Akron. Mrs. Boggs also leaves eight much loved great-grandchildren, Leigha Grand, Jarred Bowels, Sebastian and Tucker Boggs, Jacob Burrell, Nathan and Nina Harris, and her namesake, Ina Drummond, along with many loved nieces, nephews, and friends.
