Mrs. Lenore Anne Beaton Jones, 84, of Carefree Lane passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016, at her home.
Mrs. Jones' funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Stokesdale United Methodist Church with Rev. Ashley P. Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. The committal service at Westminster Gardens will be private.
A native of Tyler, Texas. Anne was born on February 20, 1932, the only child of Daniel and Lenore Stone Beaton. She was a long-time member of Stokesdale United Methodist Church. She and her husband Gib founded and operated Camp Carefree, a summer camp where "Kids can just be kids". She loved her family and kids and will be missed by all who knew and loved here. she was preceded in death by her husband Gib in 1992 and a beloved grandson, Andrew Whitesell in 2014.
Surviving are her daughters: Linda Carmichael (Mike)of King, Ellen Whitesell of Apex, Julie Saunders (Clif)of Stokesdale, and Susan Jones of Greensboro; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Stokesdale United Methodist Church, PO Box 38, Stokesdale NC 27357 or Camp Carefree, 275 Carefree Lane, Stokesdale, NC 27357 is assisting the family.
