Author. The wife of French economist and politician Jacques Parizeau, she was a native of Luniniec, Poland. Parizeau's works include, "Les Solitudes Humaines" (1962), "Voyage En Pologne" (1963), "Fuir" (1963), "Survive" (1964), "Une Quebecoise En Europe Rouge" (1965), "Rue Sherbrooke Quest" (1967), "Les Lilas Fleurissent A Varsovie" (1981), "Cote-Des-Neiges" (1983), and "Blizzard Sur Quebec" (1987). A survivor of the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, Parizeau was awarded the Prix européen de l'Association des écrivains de langue française in 1982 for her writing, and was made a member of the Order of Canada in 1988. The École Alice Parizeau in Montreal, Quebec, and the Bibliothèque Alice-Parizeau in Saint-Esprit, Quebec, were named in her honor. Parizeau died at the age of 60, from cancer.
