Mildred Ann Spence Duncan, 58, of the 6500 block of Hudson Ave., a retired registered nurse, died Jan. 29, 1993, in a hospital.

Mrs. Duncan was born in Lumberton, N.C., and retired from Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after 15 years. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include a son, John M. Duncan of Norfolk; four sisters, Carolyn Faye Brown and Sue Blackmer, both of Virginia Beach, and Mary Louise Wilcox and Linda Jefferson, both of Norfolk; two brothers, Robert Lee Spence of Carrsville, Va., and Johnnie L. Spence of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, John M. Duncan, Jr., Stacy Lynn Duncan and George Randal Duncan, all of Norfolk; a daughter-in-law, Deborah L. Swoope Duncan; eight nieces and 12 nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Wilfred R. Spence, Jr.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by the Rev. Russell G. Flaxman. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m. today.
