Odie Edward Singleton, 87, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2002, at a Haltom City convalescent center.
Funeral: 11:30 a.m., Tuesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Steve Singleton, Kenney Singleton, Rusty Singleton, Randy Singleton, Brian Singleton and Jerrell Proctor. Honorary Pallbearers: Charles Proctor and Craig Stephenson.
Odie was born May 28, 1915, in Alba, Texas. He was employed at the Fort Worth Stockyards 28 years before retiring in 1977.
He was preceded in death by his father, O.J. Singleton; mother, Laura Singleton; wife of 44 years, Hazel Singleton; and twin daughters, Earlene and Jerlene.
Survivors: Wife of 25 years, Ellen Singleton of Newark; daughter, Doris Proctor and husband, Bennie of Watauga; sons, James Singleton and wife, Carol of Azle and Fred Singleton and wife, Linda of North Richland Hills; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and other extended family.
