Jan Albertsen was a blacksmith from Emden (presently in the state of Lower Saxony in northwestern Germany but historically part of the County of East Frisia).

Brother of Lambert Albertsen, a resident of Naarden.

Master blacksmith in Curaçao in 1642.

He drowned in the Bristol Channel when the Dutch merchant ship Prinses Amalia (Princess Amelia) ran aground in a storm off Mumbles Point, Wales, near Swansea and broke apart on 27 September 1647.
