Cecil Dingus, 85, a longtime resident of Kingsport, Tennessee, a lab technician with Eastman Kodak for 41 years before his retirement in 1979, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 19, 2001, from Holston Valley Hospital. Calling hours are scheduled for Friday, December 21, 2001, 1-2 p.m., at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 800 Truxton Drive, Kingsport. Services are scheduled for Friday, 2 p.m., at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Mike Dodrill. Committal will be at Tri-Cities Memory Garden. Arrangements entrusted to Oak Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, Kingsport, TennesseeR. Cecil Dingus, 85, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday (Dec. 19, 2001) at Holston Valley Medical Center.

He was born in Ft. Blackmore, Va., and had been a resident of Kingsport most of his life. He was a member of Kingsport First Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed walking, ball games and other sports. Mr. Dingus retired from Eastman Kodak in March, 1979 after 41 years of service as a lab technician.

Mr. Dingus was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lou Dingus; his parents, George Oscar and Hettie Penley Dingus; brothers, Ralph Dingus, Michael Ray Dingus and Ronald Lee Dingus.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Genevieve and Charles Loy, Knoxville; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Brenda Dingus,
Kingsport; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Gracie and Rice Sams, Kingsport; a sister-in-law, Sue Dingus, Chicago, Ill.; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Oak Hill Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Dodrill officiating.

Committal services will follow at the Tri-Cities Memory Garden.
